Ethel M. Wright

Ethel M. Wright, 85, of Lawrenceville. GA, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 21, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1937, in Ponca City, OK. While she was still in school, her family moved to the Chicago area. She finished school there and it was in High School that she met her husband, Julian Slaby. They had twelve children together. Eventually she moved to Florida and then to Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Opal Wright, by her brothers Herbert Jr. and Richard Wright, and by one grandson, one great-granddaughter and one daughter-in-law. She is survived by her children, Christopher (Pamela) Slaby of Naples, FL, Billy Slaby, Dennis Slaby of Lake in the Hills, IL, Rebecca (John) Rudolf of Naples, FL, Brenda Wiegman of Fairdale IL, Jonathan (Grace) Slaby of Naples, FL, Bonnie (Robert) Poklemba of Naples, FL, Scott Slaby, Mellanie Slaby of Dayton, OH, Stephen (Stacey) Slaby of Hoschton, GA, Robert Slaby of Naples, FL, and Matthew (Jennie-preceded) Slaby of Williamstown, KY. In addition to her children, she is survived by 34 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ethel had a heart of compassion and devoted her life to the service of others. She spent much of her time in church activities and singing in the choir. She completed Biblical Theology courses and served at a local nursing home. Ethel also owned a cleaning business and worked as a store manager in Naples, FL for 10 years before her retirement. Ethel loved the Lord with her whole heart and let her inner light shine! She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, cooking and macramé, but her greatest joy in life was raising, caring for and loving her family. A Memorial Service for her will be held November 14, 2022, at 11:00am at Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, GA.
