Eva Jameson

Eva Jean Cannon Jameson, of Cleveland, GA, passed away on Monday, September 15 2025, following a brief illness. Eva was a graduate of Rabun County High School. She then went on to Shorter College, where she majored in Music Education and Vocal performance. She taught music education and chorus for 33 years. An active member of Georgia Music Educators Association, she and husband Thomas were awarded in 2025 with the Distinguished Music Award. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Cannon, Sr., and brother H.E. Cannon, Jr. ("Steve"). Eva is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Jameson, her daughter Suzanne (Jeff) Varnes of Toccoa, son Kipp (Cara) Jameson of Cleveland, grandson Zachary Jameson, granddaughters Harper and Emmersyn Jameson, sister Kaye (Don) Smith of Smyrna, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Nacoochee Presbyterian Church. Flowers are welcome, but the family requests donations be sent to Piedmont University Music Department, Nacoochee Presbyterian Church, or the hospice center at North Georgia Medical Center.
