Evelyn Evola Smith

Mrs. Evelyn Evola Hintson Smith, age 84 of Cookston, OK, formally of Demorest, GA, passed away at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Smith was born in Birmingham, AL on December 25, 1924 to the late Leonard C. and Marquerite Hopkins Hintson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Smith, a granddaughter, Debbie, a great grandson, Kevin and a brother Curtis Hintson. She was retired from the U.S. Envelope Company in Doraville, GA and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church in Demorest, GA. Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters & son-in-laws: Sharon & Louie Stratton, Cookson,OK; Nesa & Melvin Fite, Nelson,GA; sons and daughter in laws: Tommy & Joyce Smith, Demorest, GA and Rodney & Dana Smith, Jonesboro, GA; 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, and a brother & sister in law: Clifford & Amanda Hintson, Easley, SC, a niece and a newphew. Funeral servies will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Cookston Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Cookson County Cemetery.
