Fiorella P. Beltrani Weaver, 86, passed away on May 3, 2026, from injuries sustained during a single car accident. She was born on September 22, 1939, to Alvaro and Attilia Beltrani, in Rome, Italy. Her early life was spent in war torn Italy, living on rations. Her mother was the daughter of a Contessa and her father was the very first Italian consul general to the U.S.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann H. Weaver (Annie) of Idyllwild, California and Julia W. Clement of Gainesville, Georgia. She leaves six grandchildren: Lindsay, Daniel, Spencer, Jared, Natalie, and William. She also had four great-grandchildren: Carter, Daisy, Donovan, and Gwendolyn, with another great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Weaver, Jr., her son, William C. Weaver III, and her grandson, Jordan Isaiah Clement. Her sisters, Valeria Beltrani and Emanuela Beltrani, live in Europe and are also grieving her loss.
She was a schoolteacher for most of her long career, and being an Army wife, she taught in several states, including Georgia, Alabama, West Point, NY, where her husband was a professor, and California. She most recently taught at Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga. She was a master in languages, speaking and teaching five; including Italian, English, French, Spanish and Latin. She was most proud of her accomplishments in Apologetics, earning a degree in that field in her 60s. Fio loved the Lord with all her heart and soul, and served Him continuously, with her many volunteer activities, including saving babies through local charities, giving and serving in her church and traveling for missionary work in India and Croatia. Her accomplishments are too many to list.
She loved to garden and sew and in her late 70s she learned to bake bread and can food and make dairy products. She was an avid learner, and she had a fighting spirit. She is missed already and her legacy is that of faith, bravery and tenacity.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church.
