Flossie Meaders

Flossie Ethelene Meaders, age 92 of Lula, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018.   Mrs. Meaders was born on December 31, 1925, in Hall County, to the late Melvin and Bonnie Lynn Armour Thomas. She was a pottery maker and a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church and attended Skitts Mountain Baptist Church as well. Flossie was preceded in death by her husband, Reggie Meaders, and son, Lamar Meaders.   Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Bob Padgett, Henderson, NV; son, David Meaders, Lula, GA; sisters, Joyce Thomas Dorsey, Jefferson, GA, Geneva Thomas Melton, Pelzer, SC, Norma Thomas Grizzle, Williamston, SC; grandchildren, Russell and Deb Cagle, Melissa and Tim Chapman, Craig Meaders, and Andrew Meaders; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.   Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Skitts Mountain Baptist Church. The Rev. Kyle Savage and the Rev. Paul Flynn will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Mike Irvin officiating.   The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Meaders will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service on Sunday.   Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland.
