Floyd Wheeler

Floyd Wheeler age 92 of Cleveland passed away Saturday July 21, 2012 at Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Wheeler was born in Hall County the son of the late Duke and Dona Posten Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Essalene Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a retired Carpenter and member of Belton Baptist Church where he was the oldest Deacon. He was a World War 11 Veteran serving in the U.S. Army Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Hilda Jane and Lamar Hood, Cleveland, Wilma Carol and Harold Parker, Toccoa; daughter, Wanda Jean Poole, Lula; son, Delmer Ronald Wheeler, Clarkesville; sisters, Jessie Belle Smith, Lula, Teddie Lee, Cornelia, Lizzie Mae Posten, Murrayville; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday July 23, 2012 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Taylor and the Rev. Cecil Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in Belton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at barrettfh.com.
