Fred Wesley Thomas Jr.

Fred Wesley Thomas, Jr., age 80, of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Mr. Thomas was born on April 23, 1944, in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Fred Wesley Thomas, Sr. and Constance Williams Thomas. Fred retired after 26 years from the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Garland Thomas; son, Wesley Garland Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Thomas; sister-in-law, Edith Akin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hazel and Ricky Umbehant; nieces and nephews, Richard and Angela Thomas, Stephen Thomas, Darrell Turner, Kellah Watkins, and Clint Umbehant. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Harris, Rev. Jeff Thompson and Rev. Mike Franklin will officiate.
