Furman Edward Brooks

Mr. Furman Edward Brooks, age 72, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at Northeast GA Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Brooks was born in Franklin County, Georgia on February 25, 1936 to the late Frank and Annebelle Dockery Brooks. He was preceded in death by his sons, Franklin Brooks, Rodney Porter and brother Albert Brooks. Mr. Brooks was head of security at Mountain Lakes Resort, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and lifetime member of VFW. He was a member of the Cleveland Worship Center. Survivors include his wife Nona (Von) Brooks, daughters Patricia Tooley, Dahlonega, Mary Brooks Kokomo, IN, Sue Janck, Laverna, TX, Gayle Everett, Cleveland; son Steve Brooks, Dallas TX; brothers Earl Brooks, Sautee, Kenneth Brooks, Cleveland, Wayne Brooks, Alto; sisters Nellie Brooks and Bulah Black both of Cleveland. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday July 13, 2008 from the Cleveland Worship Center. The Rev. Marc Turner and the Rev. Joe Dover will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Grove Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
