Garnett George Cox

Garnett George Cox, age 80 of Dahlonega, passed away Thursday, November 04, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Cox was born February 11, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Silas and Emma Ledford Cox. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Cox, Kary Cox, sisters, Odessa Sosebee and Cora Lee Franklin. Survivors include his wife, Bonnell Cox, Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Donald Holland, Dawsonville; Phyllis and Don Christy, Dahlonega; Rita and Steve Brock, Gillsville; Penny and Danny Pinion, Dawsonville; Janice and Matthew Hester, Dahlonega; daughters, Elaine Wesley Grindle, Gainesville; Donna Hardegree, Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Louise Cox, Cleveland; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, November 7, 2010 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Merck will officiate. Interment will follow in Cleveland Cemetery.
