Geneva Turner

Mrs. Geneva Turner, age 87, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Turner was born on April 7, 1928 to the late Fred and Annie Garmon Gilstrap. She was a homemaker and a member of Cleveland Worship Center. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by husband, Ray Turner; brothers, Harold Gilstrap, Grady Gilstrap, Guy Gilstrap, and Garvice Gilstrap; and sister, Gladys Gilstrap. Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Pat and Jerry Thomas and Angie and Terry Jarrard, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jerry R and Loretta Thomas Jr., Joey and Angela Thomas, Bobby and Thoch Cannon, and Megan and Dustin Brown; great-grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, Krista Williams, Austin Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Paul Cannon, Anna Bell Cannon, Dawson Brown, Aedan Thomas, and Nicholas Cannon; sisters and brothers in law, Dorothy and William Shelnut, Greenville, SC, and Jean and Donald Welborn, Cleveland; brother, Kenneth Gilstrap, Gainesville; brothers and sisters in law, Dean and Mary Gilstrap and Bobby and Virginia Gilstrap, all of Gainesville; and special family Tracie Free and Deborah Denson. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Cleveland Worship Center. The Rev. Marc Turner and Rev. Paul Flynn will officiate. Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland.
