Gennie Humphries

Mrs. Gennie Irvin Humphries, age 80 of Demorest, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at The Oaks at Scenic View following an extended illness. Mrs. Humphries was born on October 4, 1930 in Habersham County to the late Sam and Minnie McCallister Irvin. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Reeves Humphries. Mrs. Humphries was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter in law: Randy & Sherry Humphries, Cleveland: grandson: Charlie Humphries, Cleveland; granddaughters and grandsons in law: Misty & Jeremy Burton and Christy & Levi Price, all of Cleveland: sister and brother in law: Elizabeth & Truett Nicholason, Demorest: brothers and sisters in law: Odell & Vioni Irvin and Arvil & Bonnie Irvin, all of Demorest, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Teddy Allen and Rev. Verner London officiating. Burial will follow in the Humphries Family Cemetery with Rev. Brian Anthony officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Humphries will lie in state from 1:30 to the time of the service.
