George Dewey Gipson

Mr. George Dewey Gipson, age 91 of Clarkesville passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at New Horizons North. Mr. Gipson was born October 11, 1920 in Banks County. He was preceded in death by sons: G.D. Gipson and Ronald Gipson, step-son, Rickey Cantrell. He was an electrician with Milliken & Company at New Holland . Mr. Gipson was a veteran in the U.S. Army having served in WWII. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include: Wife: Jennie Cantrell Gipson, Clarkesville; step- son & daughter in law: Jimmy & Paulette Cantrell, Batesville; step-daughter in law: Shelia Cantrell, Batesville; sisters: Annie Bert Shubert, Commerce and Ruby Owensby, California and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Sautee with the Rev. Shannon Rhodes and Rev. Earl Pirkle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
