George Edward (Ed) Dorsey

George Edward (Ed) Dorsey, age 77 of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Dorsey was born November 1, 1934 in Cleveland, GA to the late Grover and Minerva Ash Dorsey. He was an auto body repairman, a Veteran of the United States Marines and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by his brothers, Bascomb Dorsey, Vernon Dorsey, Hayward Dorsey and Neal Dorsey; sisters, Margaret Hames and Mary Hulsey. Survivors include his son, Paul Edward Dorsey, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Richard and Tonya Dorsey, Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Holly and Al Walters, Gainesville; grandchildren, Jade Rich, Oakwood; Daniel Chavez, Gainesville; sister, Janie Tooley, Cleveland; sister-in-law, Joann Dorsey, Cleveland; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Hester will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
