George Hood

George Hood, age 90 of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Hood was born July 4, 1922 in Blairsville, GA to the late James J. and Ollie Saxon Hood. He was Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Mr. Hood was a member of Union Baptist Church in Blairsville and was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Helen Hood; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Wanda Hood; son, Steve Hood; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Dennis Thomas; grandchildren, Jody Hood, Shelley Hood, Amanda Reepe, Emily Childers; great-grandchildren, Larson Hood, Baylee Hood, Landon Seabolt, Gannon Grizzle, Grayce Grizzle, Kennedi Seabolt, Wyatt Childers. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Benny Nix will officiate. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
