George Jones

Mr. George Jones, 82 of Cleveland passed away on January 8, 2007 at Toccoa Nursing Center after an extended illness. Mr. Jones was born on February 10, 1924 in Gordon County to the late Melvin and Pearl Hamrick Jones. He was also preceded in death by sons: Jasper Jones and Gene W. Jones; a sister: Annie Ruth Jones; and brother: Arvil Jones. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Fire Baptized Holiness Church. Survivors: wife: Edith Wade Jones, Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Jerry L. & Kathleen Jones, Chatsworth; daughters and sons in law, Anna Mae & Glen Roberts, Ten Mile, TN; Patricia & J.D. Con, Tunnel Hill, GA; daughter, Lena Ann Graham, Chatsworth; sister and brother in law: Willie Mae & Earl Sluder, Chatsworth: grandchildren: Allen & Wendy Roberts, Janet & Johnny Roberts, Jason Roberts, Ten Mile, TN; Julie Pate Huston, TX; Randy Jones, Chatsworth; Sandra & Fergie Ferguson, Jasper; Michael & Casey Jones, Rosa Jones Chris & Amanda Teasley, Porcha Teasley, Chatsworth; Christie & Lee Harrel and Roger & Jennifer Jones , Dalton; 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Barrett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Taylor and Rev. Lester Haynes, with the Rev. Paul Flynn at graveside. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, January 09, 2007. Interment will be at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
