George Childers Triplett

George Childers Triplett, Sr., age 88 of Sautee, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Habersham Medical Center. Mr. Triplett was born October 27, 1923 in Attalla, AL to the late Lois Childers and Paul Bennett Triplett, Sr. He was a design engineer and a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served in World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Triplett was a member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Jane Triplett, brother Paul Bennett Triplett, Jr. and sister Evelyn Lucas. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Triplett, Sautee; sons, George Childers Triplett, Jr., Auburn; John Mark Triplett, Sautee; daughters and sons-in-law, Lucy Jane and John Avant, Lilburn; Peggy Elizabeth and David Hufnagel, Centerville, OH; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2012 from the Nacoochee United Methodist Church. Internment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
