Georgie Lou Nix Tipton

TO WATCH MRS. TIPTON'S SERVICE, CLICK HERE Mrs. Georgie Lou Tipton, age 80, devoted wife, mother and friend, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020. Mrs. Tipton was born in White County to the late William Osborn Nix and Onie Hunt Nix. She was a homemaker and longtime active member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Tipton is preceded in death by her son, Chris Tipton as well as brothers, Marion Nix, Gordon Nix and Aaron Nix. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Tony Tipton, her sons Todd Tipton and his wife, Terri Tipton, and Scott Tipton and his wife, Patti Tipton. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley Frye, Kimberly Tipton, Maggie Booth, Mary Tipton, Grant Tipton, Molly Tipton, Brittany Adock, and her nine great grandkids, Vanessa, Lilly, Will, Ryland, Sawyer, Georgia, Scarlett, Solomon, and Ellie Mae; brothers, Ellis Nix and Avery Nix, and sisters, Bertie Nix and Eula Mae Oliver. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday July 7, 2020 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Danny O’Kelly will officiate. Interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
