Gerald Roy Allison

Gerald Roy Allison, age 59, of Gainesville, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Mr. Allison was born on December 7, 1961, in Demorest, Georgia, to the late Benny Allison and Nina Prothro. He was the president and CEO of Allison Leasing and was of the Baptist faith. Gerald loved playing music and was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. He was an incredible entertainer. Gerald enjoyed coaching little league baseball in White County and at The University of North Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Janice Allison, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Taylor Allison, Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Kamie and Randy Fogarty, Conyers; aunts, Patricia Allison, Sue Cochran, Pam Cantrell and Brenda Pilgrim; brothers-in-law, Eugene Miller, Richard Miller, Ed Miller; sister-in-law, Teresa Bolin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Swayne Cochran and Rev. Bill Coen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
