Geraldine Grizzel

Mrs. Geraldine Butler Grizzel, age 91, of Murrayville, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022. Mrs. Grizzel was born in White County to the late Chastain and Vassie Wheeler Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Wallace Grizzel; sister, Sylvia Gilstrap; and brothers, James and Edward Butler. Mrs. Grizzel was a partner in the family farm, a homemaker and a member of Wahoo Baptist Church. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jan Grizzel and Barry and Elisabeth Grizzel, all of Murrayville; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Don Abercrombie and Sandy and Dr. Billy Jenkins, all of Murrayville; daughter, Lisa Holloway, Murrayville; sister, Janice Jones, Clermont; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 P.M. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Wahoo Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 2 P.M. Friday. Rev. Mark Wheeler, Rev. Ken Anderson, and Rev. Mark Stroud will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
