Gertrude Edge

Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Gertrude Edge, age 73 of Cleveland. Mrs. Edge passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am, Friday, April 6, 2018 from Mossy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Fuller and Rev. Lee Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.   Mrs. Edge was born on February 10, 1945 in Demorest, Georgia to the late Otis Cleveland and Maude York Cleveland. She was a caregiver, taking care of those in need as well as her late husband, John Ed Edge, whom she cared for some 13 years following a stroke. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Edge is preceded in death by her son, Tim Edge, infant daughter Penny Edge as well as her sisters, Barbara Garrett, Judy Sisk, Eulene Cantrell, granddaughters, Crystal Dockery, Daisy Dockery and great grandson, Wesley Garrison   Survivors include her son, Mitchell Edge (Brittany) of Cleveland, daughters, Rita Gooch (Michael), Cleveland, Tammy Dockery (Bobby) Cleveland; grandchildren, Stacy and Emily Gooch, Amanda and Eric Nix, Emily Edge, Blake Edge, Maranda and Thomas Garrison, Billy and Taylor Edge and Conner and Chloe Edge; Mrs. Edge is also survived by her great grandchildren, Grant Gooch, Haley Gooch, Adison Nix, Kimberly Garrison, Shaylee Garrison and Avery Edge as well as her sister Louise Eller and her former daughter in law and mother of Emily and Blake Edge, Marlena Edge.   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8pm.   To share a memory of Mrs.  Edge or to send a condolence, please visit www.barrettfh.com   Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland in charge of arrangements
