Gladys Pilgrim Dean

Mrs. Gladys Dean, age 89 of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday October 15, 2013 at The Oaks at Scenic View. Mrs. Dean was born in White County, the daughter of the late Anna Johnson Pilgrim and Leonard Pilgrim. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dean; sisters, Ruth Dalton, Mildred Pilgrim and Gertrude Pilgrim; brothers, Larry Pilgrim and Bill Pilgrim. Mrs. Dean was a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church and was employed by Unicoi State Park. Survivors include her son, Gary Dean, of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sherry Dean, Cleveland; sister, Alice Loggins; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Frances Pilgrim; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday October 18, 2013 at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church. The Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Gary Hefner will officiate. Interment will be at Chattahoochee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
