Glenn W. Spooner

Glenn W. Spooner, age 68 of Gainesville, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Spooner was born May 5, 1946 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late Glenn H. Spooner and Bertha Wilson Spooner. He was a salesman for Sunbeam Bread Company and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where he served in the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Spooner was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Thome and Terry Thome. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Spooner, Gainesville; daughter, Sherrie Spooner, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and Darren Jones, Sautee; son, David Spooner, Gainesville; grandchildren, Destin Jones, Sautee; Darren Virgo Jr., California; great granddaughter, Reiley Virgo, California; brother, Richard Thome, Cleveland. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Reverend Mr. Rich Thibodeau will officiate. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
