Gloria DeLong Watson

Gloria DeLong Watson, a beloved mother, Nona, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the age of 76.

Gloria was born on November 20, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to Archie and Marie DeLong. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Atlanta, Georgia, which became her home and the place where she would build a beautiful life surrounded by family and loved ones.

Gloria was a woman of remarkable creativity and many talents. She was a gifted cook, a talented seamstress, and an extraordinary painter. She had a profound ability to create beauty with her hands, whether she was preparing a meal for the people she loved, sewing something special, or putting her imagination onto a canvas. Her creativity was matched by the warmth of her heart.

Above all, Gloria was caring, compassionate, and kind. She had a way of making people feel loved and cared for, and her generosity of spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her love for her family was at the center of her life, and she cherished the time she shared with those closest to her.

Gloria is survived by her two children, Jenifer Stewart and Corey Watson, and her four grandchildren, Kirsten, Nicholas, Catie, and Corey Allen. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela; her nephews, Steven and Wade; and her nieces, Gena and Stephanie. She is preceded in death by her sister, Janice, and her parents, Archie and Marie DeLong.

Gloria leaves behind more than memories. She leaves behind the love she gave so freely, the creativity she shared with others, the traditions she created, and the countless small moments of kindness that made her presence so meaningful. Her family will carry her with them in every recipe remembered, every handmade creation cherished, every beautiful work of art, and every act of kindness inspired by her example.
