“Granny” Pearl Wehunt, age 93 of Cleveland passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born on May 18, 1914 in Butts County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Mae Ivey Funderburk. Mrs. Wehunt was a homemaker for most of her life, a wonderful mother, and was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wehunt, daughter Patricia Wehunt, son, Franklin Wehunt, sisters, Rosie Ostine, Minnie McDougald, Dollie Funderburk, Norma Dover, Willie Mae Lance, brothers, Albert Funderburk, Alton Funderburk, Alford Funderburk, and Alvin Funderburk.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Johnny Morgan, Cleveland; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Webb and the Rev. Dave Long officiating. Interment will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
