Harold S. Riley

Harold Spahr Riley of Cleveland, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 90.   Mr. Riley was born on January 7, 1929 in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late John and Nellie Porterfield Riley. He grew up in Tazewell County, Virginia. Harold was the senior class president of Tazewell High School and was instrumental in organizing many of his high school reunions with the most recent being in 2015. After graduating, he attended Berea College and The Bowling Green Business University in Kentucky. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. After 35 years of service in numerous capacities and locations, he retired from the B.F. Goodrich Company in 1984. He has been active in the Episcopal Church for many years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years Joan Riley, his son William T. Riley, brother Bernard Riley, and his parents.   He is survived by his son Richard Riley of Washoe Valley, Nevada, daughter Janice Riley of Clarkston, GA., sisters Marlene Buffalow of Tazewell, Virginia, and Juanita and Dick Hollis of Hiram, GA., grandsons Jeff and John Riley of Nevada, and numerous nieces and nephews.   There will be a memorial service at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1755 Duncan Bridge Rd. Sautee, GA on Saturday, March 16th at 12:00 noon.
