Herman Jeffery Roper

Herman Jeffery Roper age 61 of Helen, passed away Sunday March 12, 2017 at his residence.   Mr. Roper was born August 14, 1955 in Demorest to Barbara Adams Roper and the late Herman J. Roper. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Center Baptist Church. Mr. Roper was preceded in death by his father Herman J. Roper, aunts, Wilma Jean Munn, Madge Bagwell, uncles, Cecil Roper, Larry Roper, Farris Roper, Hayward Roper and C.J. Roper. Everyone who knew him called him “Roper”.   Survivors include his mother, Barbara Adams Roper, Helen; sister and brother-in-law, Lesa and John Nutt, Unadilla; aunts and uncles, Frances Partin, Blanche Hampton, Calvin Adams, Roland Roper, Vera Treadway, Ella and Elwin Vuice, Marie and Ray Corn, Gloria and Ronnie Still, Tina Baker; nephews, Josh Wofford and Kevin Wofford; several cousins also survive.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Center Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wilkes, the Rev. Randy Walworth and the Rev. John Lance will officiate. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Center Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 Elrod Rd.
