Herman J. Roper

Funeral Services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday January 10, 2007 at Center Baptist Church for Mr. Herman Jeff Roper age 73 of Helen. The Rev. Randy Walworth and the Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate. Interment will be in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home and the body will be placed in the church at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday. Mr. Roper passed away Monday January 8, 2007 at Northeast Ga Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Roper was born in Forsyth County the son of the late Carl W. and Lela Jones Roper. He was preceded in death by brothers, Cecil Roper, Farris Roper and Larry Roper, sister, Madge Bagwell. Mr. Roper served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Center Baptist Church. He was a retired taxidermist and owned Helen Taxidermy. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Adams Roper, Helen; son, Herman Jeffrey Roper, Helen; daughter, Lesa Ann Roper Nutt, Locust Grove; grandsons, Joshua Keith Wofford, Helen, Kevin Jacob Wofford, Locust Grove; brothers, C.J. Roper, Oakwood, Roland Roper, Helen; brother and sister in law, Hayward and Barbara Roper, Harlem; sisters, Vera Treadway, Chamblee, Tina Baker, McDonough; sisters and brothers in law, Ella and Elwin Vuice, Duluth, Marie and Ray Corn, Anaheim, CA; favorite baby sister and brother in law, Gloria and Ronnie Still, McDonough; Papa Herman’s Special Girls, Michelle Hooper and Santana Krisak; and special friend, Ruth Johnson.
