Hoyt Autry

Hoyt Autry, age 102, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Mr. Autry was born on September 25, 1923, in Alto, Georgia, to the late Elbert and Ola Bell Alexander Autry. Hoyt was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in WWII. He was a retired welder and was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, Hoyt was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Rodgers, Myrette Bennet Hough, Flora Bell Kirby, Leroy Autry, Hubert Autry, and Andrew Autry.

Survivors include his wife of 78 years, Eunice Imogene Autry; children, Ernest David and Johnnie Mae Autry, Eunice Lavonne and Daniel Anania, Dennis Michael and Vicki Autry, and Diedre Lynn Valles; grandchildren, Kathryn Maryam Gilman, Ariel Munirih Sauzee, Bahiyyih Kamal Morgan, Jason Autry, Erin Baker, Joshua Autry, Ava Noell Valles, Shannon Anania, and Micheal Anania; 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
