Imogene Humphries

Mrs. Imogene Humphries, age 78 of Dawsonville, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Mrs. Humphries was born on December 27, 1935, in Cleveland, GA, to the late Efford and Martha Jane Foster Tomlin. She was a self-employed caretaker and a member of Holy Grounds Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlon Humphries; brothers, Thomas Tomlin, Lafayette Tomlin, Bobby Tomlin, Willie B. Tomlin; sisters, Kayvon Kennedy, and Coella Price. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a stranger to no one. She was a holiness preacher who loved the Lord and served Him with her whole heart. She touched numerous lives in her time on this Earth and she will be missed. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Jimmy Lee Cagle, Gainesville; son, Gary Lee Humphries, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Brandy Leeann Starnes, Gainesville, and Amy Celeste Herron (Leroy Herron), Cumming; Donice Duwayne Teems, Duluth, and Matthew Lee Humphries, Cumming; great grandchildren, Alyssa Hope Patton, Avery Lee Herron, Andrew Cole Herron, Jasmine Gabrielle Rivera, Anastasia Marie Rivera; sisters, Thelma Helton, Cleveland, and Brenda Martin, Gainesville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Patrick, Rev. Terry Garrett, and Sister Linda Manders will officiate. Interment will follow at Zion Interdenominational Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
