Irene Shelnut Palmer

Mrs. Irene Shelnut Palmer, age 104, of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Gateway Health Care following a period of declining health. Mrs. Palmer was born on March 6, 1905 to the late Floyd & Elizabeth Wood Shelnut. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Palmer and a sister: Eula Bon Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Veleta & Mike Davis, Cleveland; daughter: Virginia Jacobs, Hoschton; 6 grandchildren: Teresa, Keith and Jennifer Underwood and Phil, Mark and Ben Bowen and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM , Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Carter officiating with interment to follow in Blue Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
