Mr. Jack Ervin Ramey, age 69 of Braselton, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in White County, Georgia on August 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Virgil Monroe and Mary Flony Lloyd Ramey. Mr. Ramey served in the U.S. Army and was an owner and operator of an appliance repair service for many years. He loved playing the guitar, enjoyed music, was an avid race fan, a loving father, and husband. Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Ramey, brothers, Dewey Ramey, and Howard Ramey.
Survivors include his loving wife, Vernece Palmer Ramey, Braselton; sons, Jeffery E. Ramey, Jefferson; Scott Ramey, Trion; Keith Ramey, Layton, Utah; brothers, Herbert Ramey, Helen; R.B. Ramey, sisters, Mary Ruth Winkler, Betty Sue Freeman, all of Cleveland; Ruby Ravan, Dahlonega; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Clinton Gooch officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah View Memorial Gardens in Cleveland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday.
