Jack Duane Olvey

Jack Duane Olvey, age 77, of Homer passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025.

Mr. Olvey was born on May 31, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Jack and Cleo Keith Olvey. He was a restaurant owner and a member of Yonah Lodge F&AM. Jack moved to White County in the early nineties from Clayton County.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Olvey, Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Eric Hines, Homer; grandsons, Brandon Thompson and Blake Hines; sister, Judy Fuller.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Dorman and the Rev. William Beasley will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
