James Lanier Brown

James Lanier Brown, age 85, of Sautee, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Mr. Brown was born on August 7, 1939, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late James Wiley Brown and Willie Nell Freeman Brown. He worked as a surveyor for the Department of Transportation. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Brown; and brother-in-law, Tommy Cowart. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jeanie Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ronald Black; grandchildren, Joseph and Haley Brown, Neil and Samara Brown, James Black, and Nevaeh Black; great-grandchild, Angel Brown; sister, Sue Cowart. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Taylor and the Rev. Marc Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
