James Ronnie Dowdy

James Ronald “Ronnie” Dowdy, age 76, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Mr. Dowdy was born on October 7, 1947, to the late David Dowdy and Clara Elizabeth Purdue. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Hackney and Dovie Avans; and brothers, Curly Jewell Dowdy, David Dowdy, Sonny Dowdy, Leon Dowdy, and Grady Dowdy. Mr. Dowdy was a truck driver and had worked for Allison Trucking, Pilgrim Trucking, and Cobb. James is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Starsky Holloway; sister, Elizabeth Dees, of Barnesville, GA; grandchildren, Jaden Holloway, Jesse Brown, Josie Holloway, and Stella Holloway; and one great-grandchild, Jemma Brown. He was a loving dad and granddaddy. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024, from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. John Dowdy will officiate. The family will receive friends at Barrett Funeral Home on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
