James Keith

James Keith, age 74, of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Mr. Keith was born on January 23, 1952, in Forsyth County, Georgia, to the late Robert and Pauline Garrett Keith. He was a retired EMT and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Underwood Keith; grandson, Brandon Crawford; brother-in-law, Albert Winter; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Winter and Betty McConnell; mother-in-law, Jean Underwood and father-in-law, Thurman Underwood

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Maddox; grandson, Dalton Crawford; granddaughter, Makayla Glover; great-grandson, Camdin Crawford; siblings, Robert Brice (RB) Keith, Ray and Cheryl Keith, Corrine and Henry Edge, Geneva and Gary Thomas, Lillie Winters; sisters-in-law, Judy Howell, Elaine Mize, and Elizabeth Goodman; niece; Mary “Sunshine” Goodman; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in White Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
