James Kenneth Benfield

James Kenneth Benfield, age 63 of Cleveland, formerly of Batesville community, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Habersham Medical Center.   Mr. Benfield was born on August 3, 1953 in Demorest, Georgia, to Mary Belle Cantrell Benfield and the late James Buford Benfield. He worked in textile industries and was a veteran of the United States Army. Kenneth was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Kristopher Addis.   Survivors include his son, Korey Benfield, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Janie Benfield, Clarkesville; mother, Mary Belle Benfield, Clarkesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Billy Smith, Baldwin, Janice and Pood Thomas, Cleveland, Lisa and Ronnie Addis, Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Regina Ann Benfield, Clarkesville; brother, Edward Benfield, Clarkesville; numerous nieces and nephews.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Shannon Rhodes and Rev. Chad Shook will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
