James E. O’Keefe, Jr was born Oct 17th 1945, he was killed running into a burning orphanage to save children, at least that’s what he’ll tell you.   He is predeceased in death by his parents James E. O’Keefe, Sr. and Vera Gilvey O’Keefe and was born in New York. He spent his childhood years in New York and Miami. He attended Farragut Military Academy in St Petersburg, FL. Mr. O’Keefe volunteered and enlisted into the U.S. Army and later served in the Al National Guard 20th Special Forces Group and the 348th Calvary of the Ga National Guard  He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie O’Keefe Lockwood, her husband Mat, his G Daughters Kathryn and Moira Lockwood, his sister, Gaye Roberts, her husband Bob, their four children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Dean Loudermilk and several other wives, innumerable. Mr. O’Keefe was in manufacturing, and later became a personal trainer. Jim loved sky diving, scuba diving, running, and eating junk. He died of emphysema and COPD, which prevented him from these activities, which made him cross. He was proficient in the use of four letter words in extremely creative arrangements.   Anything of which he did not approve was “communist”. He hath more wit than hair. He loved life, lived it to the fullest, and died at age 71, which is no minor miracle and has surprised his friends greatly. His funeral service will be at Barrett’s Funeral home on Friday at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project which his g daughter sincerely hopes will help them to record better music for their commercials.
