James William Payne

Mr. James Payne, age 77, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. Mr. Payne was born in Hall County to the late Robert and Nellie Smith Payne. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Camilla “Millie” Payne; and sister, Sue Fowler. Mr. Payne was a retired truck driver with Candler Concrete. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and William White, Cleveland, and Lisa and Jeff Brown, Woodstock; grandchildren, Jonathan and Amanda Powell, Zachary and Kayla Miller, and Austin and Ashton Miller, Michael Brown, and Cassandra Brown; great-grandchildren, Michael “Mikey” Miller, Noah Miller, Hadleigh Miller, and Millie Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Judy Payne and Timothy and Sharon Payne; and sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Bell. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2023 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt.
