James McClain Scarbrough, age 48 of Dahlonega, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Mr. Scarbrough was born on January 25, 1971, in Toccoa, Georgia, to James and Patricia McClain Scarbrough. He was a self-employed construction worker. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Avery, Dahlonega; son, Dustin Scarbrough, Colorado; grandchildren, Anakin Avery, Dahlonega, Amaryllis Avery, Dahlonega, and Hailey Wood, Gainesville; brothers, Scotty Scarbrough, Cleveland, and Kent Scarbrough, Lula; sister, Kellie Lawson, Dahlonega; nephews, Cody Wood, Gainesville, Dallas Wood, Dahlonega, and Carson Scarbrough, Cleveland; niece, Brylee Scarbrough, Cleveland; fiancé, Kristi Homs. Memorial services are scheduled for 5:00 P.M. Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Stacy Dyer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M.
