Jennie Vae Cantrell Gipson

Jennie Vae Cantrell Gipson, age 84 of Clarkesville, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Gipson was born October 7, 1928 in Habersham County to the late Arles and Druchie Smith Benfiel. She was a textile worker for New Holland and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her husbands Daniel Cantrell, Dewey Gipson, son Rickey Cantrell and brother Buford Benfield. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Paulette Cantrell, Clarkesville; daughter-in-law, Shelia Cantrell, Clarkesville; grandchildren and spouses, James and Sabrina Cantrell; Sharon and Phil Strickland; Shelly and Drew Echols; Mandy and James Byrnes; Tracy and Damon Nix, all of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Marion Cantrell, Sautee; sisters, Marcella Free, Sugar Hill; Bertie Sosebee, Sautee; sister-in-law Mary Belle Benfield , Clarkesville; 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, July 22, 2013 from Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Shannon Rhodes and Dr. Don Drawdy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
