Jerry Frances Lance

Jerry Frances Lance, age 77 of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019.   Mr. Lance was born on October 11, 1941 to the late Howard and Dessie Reece Lance. He was also preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Thelma Seabolt Lance, and brother, Donald Lance. Mr. Lance retired from the Department of Transportation after 34 years. He began as a crew member in a survey party and rose to level of project engineer with the DOT. Mr. Lance was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.   Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Tracy Allen, Cleveland, and Debra and Darryl Moler, Cleveland; grandchildren, Morgan and Blake Daniel, Cleveland, Trey Allen, Cleveland and Robert Owenby, Decatur; sister, Sarah Hamilton, Jonesboro; sisters-in-law, Hilda Fain, Sautee, Callie Copelan, Clarkesville, and Francis Seabolt, Hartwell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Ron Connery, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.   Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Brandon Hester and Rev. Chris York will officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
