Jerry Worth Thomas

Mr. Jerry Worth Thomas, age 89, of Sautee Nacoochee, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022. Mr. Thomas was born in Young Harris to the late Joe Boyd and Lavonia Garrett Thomas. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bonnell Thomas, Barney Thomas, and O’Neal Thomas; and sister, Patricia Welborn. Mr. Thomas was a plant Manager for Magnolia Plastics and a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Young Harris. He served in the US Army. Full military honors will be given. Survivors include wife, Vivian S. Thomas, Sautee Nacoochee; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony (Tony) and Libby Thomas, Gaffney, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Thomas) and Randall DeLong, Sautee Nacoochee; grandson, Russell Thomas, Bowman; granddaughter, Paula DeLong Glover (Jeffrey), Dawsonville; great granddaughter, Vivian Glover, Dawsonville; brothers, Sammy Thomas, Herman Thomas, and Kenneth Thomas, all of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Buddy) and Carolyn Thomas and Robin and Sherry Thomas, all of Cleveland; sisters, Jimmie Ruth McGhee, Cleveland and Jackie Fain, Clarkesville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Rev. Jamie Smith will officiate. Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
