Jerry Thomas

Jerry Thomas, Sr., age 80, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Mr. Thomas was born on January 8, 1946, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Jesse and Willie Lou Stringer Thomas. He retired from the Department of Natural Resources and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and to most of Cleveland as Santa Jerry. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ann Thomas; and brother, Ernest Thomas.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Thomas, Jr. (Melissa) and Joey Thomas (Angela); grandchildren, Christopher Thomas (Shantae), Austin Thomas (Makenna), Aedan Thomas, Brooke Brow (Hunter), Destiny Massey, and Krista Taylor (Payton), great-grandchildren, Corbin Thomas and Ginger Lewis; siblings, Hilda Tallent (James), Pop Thomas (Peggy), Pood Thomas (Janice), Wallace Thomas (Elaine), and Edsel Thomas (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Ruby Thomas, and Angie Jarrard (Terry).

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Stacey Dyer, the Rev. Josh Chatham, and the Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
