Jessie Mae Cleveland

Jessie Mae Cleveland, age 93 of Cleveland, know as Mama, Nanny, Aunt Jet, Mama Jessi, Jessie Mae departed this life on May 18th 2012 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Jessie Mae Jenkins Cleveland was born December 9th 1918, to the late Jessie, and Rozella Jenkins. She was married to the late James (Jim) Robert Cleveland. Mrs. Jessie Mae joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 20, where she was a faithful member until her health failed her. She enjoyed going to yard sales and feed the entire community and caring for many children. Her door and kitchen was always open. She is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Mrs. Ruby Mizell (99); Five children and spouses Mary Moss and Grady Abney; James Cleveland and Dedra Zaccone; Jerry and Sue Cleveland; Vicki and Kenneth Nicely; and Ann Cleveland; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren,12 great great-grandchildren, two special friends Mrs. Rosetta Tate and Donald Dorsey and several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Yonah Cemetery.
