Jewel Barrett

Jewel M. Barrett, age 85 of Clermont, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018.   Mrs. Barrett was born on June 6, 1933, in Shooting Creek, North Carolina, to the late Alfred and Dollie Garrett Moss. She was a graduate of Atlanta Business College and was a retired bookkeeper for White County Farmer’s Exchange. Mrs. Barrett was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church in Gainesville. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Barrett.   Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Barrett Palmer and David Palmer, Cleveland; granddaughter and husband, Julie Palmer Sims and Andrew Sims, Cleveland; great grandchildren, Candler Sims, Jacob Sims, Shayley Sims, and Josie Sims.   Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Donnie Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
