Jewell Westmoreland

Jewell Oscar Westmoreland, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Mr. Westmoreland was born on August 22, 1938, in White County, to the late Aaron and Marie Price Westmoreland. He was a retired road superintendent for White County and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Jewell was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Nix Westmoreland; sons, Tommy Westmoreland and Larry Westmoreland; brothers, Tommy Westmoreland, Julian Westmoreland, James Westmoreland, and Julius Westmoreland; sister, Louise Martin. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Brian Asherbranner; grandchildren, Brantley Asherbranner, Bella Asherbranner, Trevor Dyer, Chase Westmoreland, Dylan Westmoreland, and Tyler Westmoreland; sister, Jeanette Turner, Dahlonega; brother, Robert Westmoreland, Toccoa; niece, Renae Staton Kendall, Flowery Branch; special brother-in-law, Royce Martin, Cleveland. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and the Rev. Wayne Turk will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
