Jo Carroll Brown

Ms. Jo Carroll Brown, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Park Place Nursing and Rehab. Ms. Brown was born on December 29, 1927, in Gainesville, GA, to the late Charles C. Carroll and Eula Henderson Carroll. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as Clerk of the Commissioners in White County and worked local elections after her retirement. Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Julis Brown; son, Robert J. Brown; sister, Marceline Cook. We all called her Granny. She will forever be missed. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Sue Brown, of Monroe; son, Tony Brown, of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Peggy Brown, of Winder; grandchildren, Kerry Brown, Julie Honea, Tiffany Pence, Rob Brown, Matthew Brown, Terri Turpin; several great-grandchildren; 2 nephews. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 PM Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Gateway Memory Park. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends 1-2:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
