Joe Nathan Turner

Mr. Joe Nathan Turner, age 93, of Cleveland, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019. Mr. Turner was born in Covington, KY, the son of Luther Turner and Dora Davis Turner. Joe was of the Baptist faith and was a Master Carpenter and Homebuilder. He was well known for his custom built homes, including the 10 he built and lived in with his beloved wife, Alice Cain Turner, who preceded him in death. After he retired, he and his wife traveled all over the United States and Canada and made many friends along the way. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the following siblings: Berry Turner, Martha Cain, Herbert Turner, Carlton Turner, and Magdalene Winstead. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Turner, Oak Ridge, TN; Joel and Vickie Turner, Dahlonega; and Mark and Sheila Turner, Cleveland; daughter, Linda Dyess, Carnesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara West and Gene Kelly, Alpharetta, GA, and Jeane and Tifton Meeks, Cleveland; grandchildren, Laura Clemons, Cumming, GA, Scott Turner, Knoxville, TN, Stanley Garrison, Carnesville, GA, Travis Garrison, Gainesville, GA, Ceilia Lance, Gillsville, GA, Pamela Bright, Greenville, SC, Juli Skelton, Cleveland, GA, Tyler Turner, Dahlonega, GA, Lauren Turner, Dahlonega, GA, Sam Turner, Missoula, MT, Matthew Turner, Cleveland, GA, Christopher Kelly, Snellville, GA and Patrick Kelly, Gastonia, NC; sister, Mary Jett, Cleveland; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at Gateway Memory Park.
