John Erwin Ash Jr.

Mr. John Erwin Ash Jr. age 72 of Cornelia passed away Tuesday January 12, 2010 at Habersham County Medical Center. Mr. Ash was born in White County on July 22, 1937. He was preceded in death by his father, John Erwin Ash Sr. and sister, Joyce Ash Raby. Mr. Ash was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army, member of the VFW in Cornelia and Blue Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Ash, Cornelia; mother, Carmel Ash, Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Johnnie and Darrell Dover, Sherry and Kirk Gailey, all of Cleveland; daughter, Robin Ash, Mt. Airy; son, Chad Ash, Cornelia; grandchildren, Kaley Dover, D.J. Dover, both of Cleveland, Bryce Ash, Jenna Ash, both of Cornelia; step granddaughter, Melissa Gailey, Clermont; nephew, Jake Raby, Commerce. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday January 14, 2010 at Blue Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Lester Haynes will officiate.
