John George Cantrell

Mr. John George Cantrell, age, 79, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Cantrell was born July 13, 1935, in Cleveland, Georgia to the late John James Cantrell and Jessie Elizabeth Westmoreland Cantrell. He was preceded in death by brother, Alex Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was a veteran serving in the U.S Army. He was a farmer and a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church. Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marcille Cantrell; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Harry Lasher of Marietta; daughter, Courtney Jaskiewicz of Apollo Beach, FL; grandchildren, Rick and Lori Wike of Buford, Jessica and Chuck Smithson of Charleston SC, and Maddox and Skylar Jaskiewicz of Apollo Beach, FL; great-grandson, Bennett Smithson of Charleston SC; and sister-in-law, Betty Cantrell of Cleveland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Fund at 2150 Limestone Pkwy., Suite 115 Gainesville, GA 30501-2567. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.
